If you want to learn this method then remember the formula – Double digits are not allowed. If in any steps a number greater than 9 is replaced by a single digit number by adding its digits until it becomes single digit number. For example suppose in any steps 58 comes, then make it 5 + 8 =13 and again 1 + 3 = 4.
Multiply 4268 x 79.

Steps:
1. Make 4268 into single digit
4 + 2 + 6 + 8 = 20 and 2 + 0 = 2
2. Make 79 into single digit in the same way
7 + 9 = 16 and 1 + 6 = 7
3. Now multiply these two numbers 2 x 7 = 14 and 1 + 4 = 5.
4. Now it’s time to product 337172, make it single digit
3 + 3 + 7 + 1 + 7 + 2 = 23 and 2 + 3 = 5
In step 3 and 4 same digits 5 comes,it means that multiplication is correct.
